Como parte del seminario organizado por AA XX 100 que tendrá lugar hoy 7 de Noviembre de 2015 en la Architectural Associaiton en la Architectural Association para conmemorar la edición de la revista AD sobre la Mujer en la arquitectura en 1975, voy a presentar la conferencia "El futuro de la arquitectura: breves retratos de mujeres en la Architectural Association". Aquí teneis un breve resumen del contenido:
"La Architectural Association es una institución bien conocida por su carácter visionario en el campo de la arquitectura, con prácticas arquitectónicas y pensadores que han configurado desde el pasado el presente de la arquitectura. Desde que entramos en el siglo XXI, la Architectural Association ha aumentado el número de mujeres estudiantes y profesores, quienes participan activamente en el cambio del campo de la arquitectura. Estas mujeres comparten activamente sus reflexiones y están comenzando nuevas iniciativas para configurar el futuro de la arquitectura. Más estudiantes están involucrados en iniciativas que desdibujan las fronteras entre el mundo académico y el mundo real a través de diferentes medios de comunicación que el práctica profesional tradicional. Mujeres dentro del cuerpo de profesorado de la escuela están totalmente comprometidas en sus prácticas con una posición crítica clara hacia la arquitectura presentándola a través de sus escritos, propuestas y obra construida. Esta conferencia tiene como objetivo presentar una visión de este fenómeno, mostrando brevemente algunas obras de estas mujeres que están cambiando la práctica de la arquitectura ".
As part of the AA XX 100 organized event today 7th of November 2015 at the Architectural Association to commemorate the AD Magazine issue on WOmen in architecture in 1975, I will be presenting the lecture "The future of
architecture: Brief portraits of women at the Architectural Association".
"The
Architectural Association is an institution well known for its visionary nature
in the architectural field, with practices and thinkers that have configured in
the past the present of architecture. Since we entered into the 21st century,
the Architectural Association has increased the number of female students and
staff actively involved in changing the field of architecture. These women are
sharing their thoughts and starting new initiatives to configure the future of
architecture. More students are involved in initiatives that blur the
boundaries between academia and the real world using different media than the
traditional professional practice. Female tutors are fully engaged in practices
with a clear critical position towards architecture presenting it through their
writing, proposals and built work. This lecture aims to present an outlook of
this phenomenon by briefly showing some works of these women that are changing
the architectural practice."
